Pelosi On Obamacare: "Be Optimistic About It," It Is Going To Be "A Liberation"
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Obamacare would be a "liberation, a freedom" and encouraged people to "be optimistic" about it at her weekly briefing with the press on Thursday.
Pelosi also acknowledged that healthcare premiums for some people will increase under Obamacare.
"I don’t remember saying that everybody in the country would have a lower premium, because everybody in the country doesn’t have health insurance. So how could it be lower? But the fact is the value of what you get for the cost that you pay is a reduction in cost to you," Pelosi said at her press briefing.
However, in a July 2012 interview with David Gregory on NBC's Meet the Press, Pelosi said Obamacare will lower rates for everyone.
"For everybody, it is going to be a liberation, a freedom," Pelosi claimed. "We dealt with invincible all along. There were people who did not think they would ever be sick."
